  • Only visit reputable websites. Some websites are programmed with malicious viruses, and all you have to do is go to their website and you’ll have these files downloaded onto your computer. This means you should not go to websites that look questionable. Certain anti-virus software programs help you detect these malicious websites, so take this into consideration when you purchase one.
  • Don’t download unnecessary files. Sometimes you can get a virus from downloading pirated music or software. There is no way of knowing whether a download is infected, so you should avoid downloads from sources you don’t know entirely.
  • Don’t open emails from people you don’t know. Some people try to steal your information by embedding emails with malicious software. All it takes is for you to open your email and you could have your computer infected. This means you should never open an email from someone you don’t know, and keep in mind that people are not always who they say they are.

Use these tips to help you avoid getting computer viruses. You wouldn’t want your personal information stolen.

  • Carrying Bag or Protective Case: You can choose some unique bags and cases for your laptop to really show off your personality. You really should purchase one or the other to protect your laptop while you are on the go and it is not in use.
  • Wireless Mouse: The sensor mouse that comes standard on laptops is not the easiest to use. Of course, it is all in what you get used to, so give it a try. If you decide you’d prefer a standard mouse, you can buy a wireless one that connects to your laptop through the USB port.
  • External Hard Drive:  Since laptops are smaller, you usually can’t store as many files as on a desktop computer. This means you might want to carry an external hard drive for extra space. This really is only necessary if you own a lot of music or picture files.

There are lots of other accessories you can buy for your laptop, like a back-up battery or cleaning supplies, but this list presents the basics. No matter what you buy, though, you are going to love owning a laptop because of the mobility. The accessories are just to make your experience a little better.
